Internships allow students to perform a limited range of duties at Enloe to gain work experience for their field of study. However, our internship options are very limited due to the confidential and sensitive nature of work performed in the hospital setting. Clinical internships are coordinated through your school.
Please check with your department chair to determine if an internship contract has already been established with Enloe. If you already have arranged an internship with a department in the hospital, please print and complete the necessary steps, available on our Internships page.
Job shadows at Enloe Health consist of a one-day, 4-hour, observation-only experience for students 18 years of age or older.
Those interested in a job shadow at Enloe must first find an Enloe department with an employee who is willing to be shadowed and get approval from that employee’s department manager. Please note that it is your responsibility to find this contact. Enloe cannot help with a placement due to the high volume of job shadow requests.
Once you have established a contact and approval, please email students@enloe.org to schedule a clearance appointment 48 hours before your job shadow is supposed to start.
Proof of immunizations is required. This includes proof of being fully vaccinated and boosted for COVID-19. You are considered fully vaccinated two weeks after the second dose in a two-dose series, i.e., the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, and two weeks after a single-dose vaccine, i.e., the Janssen vaccine.
In accordance with the Public Health Order issued Dec. 22, 2021, CDPH is requiring HCP to be up to date with vaccinations and receive boosters by March 1, 2022 or when eligible.
All physician job shadows are initiated with our Medical Staff office. Once registered for the program, you will receive additional clearance documents and proceed with same immunization review and clearance process. Please contact that office to register at 530-332-7375.
Due to the sensitivity of our patients, we are unable to provide internships or shadowing in our Behavioral Health Unit, OB (Obstetrics and Gynecology) and Emergency department.
Enloe gives local adults an opportunity to gain experience in a health care setting while also serving their community. Our adult volunteer program places college students at various nursing units within Enloe to assist staff, patients and visitors.
