Enloe Recognized for Excellence by Three Organizations
CHICO, Calif., Sept. 19, 2022 – Enloe Medical Center has been recognized for its excellence and outstanding care by U.S. News & World Report, Cal Hospital Compare, and Surgical Review Corporation.
U.S. News & World Report designated Enloe among the Best Regional Hospitals for the Northern Sierras and 46th in the state in the 2022-2023 rankings. The publication evaluated 404 hospitals in California. The medical center was also nationally rated high performing in seven adult procedures and conditions:
- Heart Attack
- Heart Failure
- Diabetes
- Kidney Failure
- Stroke
- Hip Replacement
- Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease
“It’s very unusual for a hospital to be consistently rated the way we have been, year in and year out,” said Mike Wiltermood, president and CEO. “And I think it’s absolutely a testament to the caregivers that we have and our community as well, that supports us, works with us and helps us get better.”
On Aug. 23, Cal Hospital Compare placed Enloe on the honor roll for its exemplary high performance in maternity care, opioid stewardship and patient safety. Only eight other hospitals in the state shared this distinction with the medical center. Cal Hospital Compare is a nonprofit organization that has been providing objective hospital performance ratings for more than a decade.
On July 27, Enloe achieved accreditation from Surgical Review Corporation as a Center of Excellence in Robotic Surgery. Status as an accredited Center of Excellence means Enloe’s robotic surgery program meets nationally and internationally recognized standards. Additionally, four surgeons on Enloe’s medical staff received the Excellence in Robotic Surgery accreditation:

- Mark Garrison, D.O.
- Wissam Halabi, M.D.
- Scott Schneider, M.D.
