Residency Program

Learn from Experienced Caregivers

Physical therapist with patient

Enloe Health offers a residency program in orthopaedic physical therapy.

This program is accredited by the American Board of Physical Therapy Residency and Fellowship Education and is the only residency program in this region of Northern California.

Participants receive extensive on-site education and hands-on training as they work under the supervision of Enloe Health’s most trusted physical therapists.

These experienced caregivers stay up to date on the most current evidence, so they can provide the best-quality care possible — and help the next generation of physical therapists do the same.American Board of Physical Therapy Residency and Fellowship Education logo

Training takes place at the state-of-the-art Enloe Health Rehabilitation Center, located in Chico, California, less than 2 hours north of Sacramento.

A Well-Rounded Program

Our mission: The Enloe Health Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Residency will improve patient-centered care through quality advanced, evidence based, post-graduate orthopaedic physical therapy training. This training will help physical therapists become experts in their field for the betterment of the local community.

When you’re part of our program, you’ll work with as many as three mentors for 12 to 18 months, allowing you to gain valuable insight from multiple providers — making you a more well-rounded expert clinician.

But the learning doesn’t stop there. You’ll also be in the company of a large staff of experienced caregivers who want you to succeed. These experts are board-certified specialists in several areas, including:

  • Orthopaedics
  • Neurology
  • Geriatrics
  • Sports
  • And more

Several are Fellows of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists (FAAOMPT).

They’re happy to share their knowledge with you. In fact, many Enloe Health caregivers have years of experience teaching in other programs, as well as continuing education. Email us at ptresidency@enloe.org for more information.
