Your First Treatment
For your first treatment, please wear comfortable clothes and shoes that allow for easy movement.
Your initial visit will last about an hour. Your therapist will:
- Review your medical history
- Do an evaluation
- Discuss your goals
- And design a customized plan of care
What to Expect
Evaluation
Your treatment will begin with a focused evaluation. We will record your health history and provide an overall health assessment. We will also conduct a physical examination to assess your:
- Ability to perform specific tasks
- Strength
- Range of motion
- Sensation
- And how your skin, fascia, muscles, nerves, and joints move
Goal Setting
Based on the evaluation, you and your therapist will establish a treatment plan and therapy goals.
Treatment
Only licensed professionals deliver patient care at Enloe Outpatient Therapy. Your program will use a wide range of interventions to help you get better. This may include exercise and strengthening programs.
Education & Wellness
Throughout treatment, your therapist will share valuable insight. Since your understanding and participation are essential to achieving your goals, we will teach you strategies to help you heal starting on day one. Expect to receive a home program that will include techniques for both flexibility and strengthening.
Communication
Open communication is vital between you and your therapist. Feel free to ask questions during your therapy.
What You Can Do
Because you are the primary focus of our care, your active participation is essential. To help achieve your physical therapy goals:
- Follow through with your prescribed home exercise programs.
- Report significant changes in symptoms, medications and function.
- Keep all your scheduled appointments.
- Arrive on time to get the maximum time with your therapist.
