Enloe Health offers a medically supervised program of exercise and education for people with lung disease.

The Enloe Health Pulmonary Rehabilitation program’s goal is to help people better understand their respiratory condition and improve their quality of life.

Individualized programs enable participants to increase their exercise tolerance and become stronger. The classes include retraining your breathing to control shortness of breath, proper use of medications and nutrition.

Exercise, Education & Support

Pulmonary Rehabilitation is an eight-week program that meets two to three times a week. We encourage participants to bring their spouse or support person to the educational sessions.

Exercise sessions are tailored to each participant’s ability, needs and limitations.

We emphasize endurance, strength, and flexibility, while monitoring each participant’s oxygen level and heart rate. Respiratory therapists and exercise physiologists supervise each session, under the advice of the program’s physician director.

An exercise maintenance program is offered three times a week for those who wish to continue their exercise after the initial eight-week program.
