Enloe Health Enloe Medical Center is the region’s verified Level II Trauma Center and a Joint Commission Accredited STEMI Receiving Center. “STEMI” refers to a ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction. Hospitals that receive this recognition are as prepared as possible to perform evidence-based, lifesaving treatment when necessary.
Enloe Medical Center is one of only two American College of Surgeons (ACS) verified Level II Trauma Centers north of metro Sacramento.

Enloe Health Emergency Services is also designated for emergency pediatric care and includes specialized equipment to treat children.

Butte County Sexual Assault Response Team (SART)
Butte County developed a Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) in 2010 to serve survivors of sexual assault and child sexual abuse. It is a coordinated response system of intervention and care to help survivors regain control over their lives and restore their dignity.
Butte County SART’s goal is to eliminate sexual violence and help patients begin their path to healing — physically, emotionally and spiritually. This can include collecting forensic evidence that can help identify and stop perpetrators.

Types of Forensic Medical Exams
At Enloe Health, forensic RNs conduct these three types of forensic medical examinations:
- Adult/Adolescent/Geriatric Forensic Medical Examinations: These examinations can be provided within 10 days of sexual assault in most cases. Enloe Health is mandated to report all instances of violence, including reports of sexual assault. However, the patient is not required to engage with law enforcement.
- Infant Child Sexual Abuse Forensic Medical Examinations: These examinations are available at the request of a jurisdictional law enforcement agency for children ages 11 and younger. In both cases of acute examinations (taking place within five days of abuse), and non-acute (greater than 120 hours), authorization by a jurisdictional law enforcement agency is required.
- Suspect Forensic Medical Examinations: These examinations are exclusively available upon request from law enforcement.
