Early Detection Saves Lives
Breast cancer is the second-leading cause of cancer death in women— and it’s the most common cancer among American women, excluding skin cancer.
In fact, 1 in 8 women will develop this disease in their lifetime.
Mark Your Mammogram Off Your To-Do List
Call Enloe Health Breast Imaging at 530-332-4350 to check your mammogram off your to-do list. Women should get screened for breast cancer starting at the age of 40.
Early detection is the best protection!
- If you’re 40-44, you can get a mammogram every year.
- If you’re 45-54, you should get an exam every year.
- If you’re 55 or older, you should get a test every other year unless your care team recommends annual examinations.
Women who are at a higher risk for this disease may need a mammogram sooner. Ask your provider if a referral is right for you if:
- Someone in your family had breast cancer, especially at an early age.
- You had radiation in the past to your chest.
- You have an Ashkenazi Jewish heritage.
A screening mammogram can take less than 20 minutes and provide vital results.
