I was born in Chico, lived in Quincy, then ended up in the Bay Area for career and family. I have two children — a daughter in the Bay Area and a son in Texas, also two grandchildren — a boy in Washington and a girl in Florida. I retired in 2005 from the City of Newark, near San Jose, after 25 years because my mom was in Chico. With no family nearby, my husband and I moved back to Chico. My husband passed away several years ago. I had been taking care of my mom for several years, but sadly, at the age of 98, she passed away last year. I am a volunteer at Enloe Health (18 years), and a member of Chico Newcomers Club, as well as Soroptimist International.
