Welcome to Enloe Health
The evolution of Enloe Medical Center expands far beyond the Level II Trauma Center located on the Esplanade. The organization comprises several clinics, including more than 45 medical services, operates the only hospital-owned and operated air ambulance in California, and employs nearly 4,000 people.
After 110 years of compassionate care for our North State community, the name “Enloe Medical Center” is no longer fitting. Welcome Enloe Health, the organization’s new identity that reflects the scope of its services and pushes the organization to the next level.
Explore Enloe Health’s fresh look, which includes new mission, vision, and values statements and look back on the storied history of the organization. Discover the inspiration behind the new look and hear from Enloe Health caregivers.
Elevating the health of our communities
The new mission builds on Enloe’s achievements while also acknowledging the many different communities within the North State. “We know people are part of many different communities, and we want them to know we acknowledge that, we see them as individuals and we are here to care for them,” said Mike Wiltermood, Enloe Health’s President and CEO.
Delivering exceptional health care experiences
The new vision is meant to propel Enloe Health forward. “We know that the determination of whether an experience was exceptional is subjective, based on the patient’s perspective,” said Jolene Francis, Enloe Health’s Vice President of Philanthropy & Communications. “That’s the purpose of a vision statement, to give an organization something to continually work toward.”
The new values are rooted in principles Enloe has championed for years:
Safety — Embracing the shared responsibility of safety for all
Engagement — Empowering active participation and ownership of results
Trust — Fostering trust with competency, character and honesty
Excellence — Relentlessly pursuing innovative improvement
Belonging — Cultivating an environment of belonging with compassion, acceptance and respect

Our New Logo
Inspiration of the Logo
In 1913, Dr. Newton Thomas Enloe opened Enloe Hospital on Flume Street in downtown Chico. It had 25 patient beds, three doctors and five nurses.
Enloe has since grown into a vast organization, and the updated logo for Enloe Health honors its past while also celebrating its future.
The core shape of the logo was inspired by a photo of Dr. Enloe sitting alongside his family on a log ambulance he developed to transport patients. The photo shows that Dr. Enloe strove to transform health care and his namesake has always been rooted in innovation.
A new typeface is paired with one that pays homage to the typeface used in the historic logo. The new emblem coupled with the tagline “You Belong” will drive the organization into a new era as a health system.
