Community Benefit
As a nonprofit organization, Enloe Health goes beyond providing medical care. Through our Community Benefit program, we provide a variety of resources and contributions to those in need. This includes financial assistance, Medicare shortfalls, subsidized health services, community education, research and more.
Our Reports
Under the Affordable Care Act, U.S. hospitals are required to conduct a Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) every three years. The assessment’s main purpose is to:
- Look objectively at the health needs of a community and the resources available to address those needs
- Prioritize the unmet health needs
- Create an action plan to address them
The action plan will help shape programs over the next three years. Read the action plan, the CHNA and Enloe’s annual Community Benefit Report below.
2024 Community Benefit Report
Enloe publishes an annual Community Benefit Report, which looks at services and activities we provide to the community that go above and beyond our daily care of patients.
We are proud of our tradition of service. In the spirit of our mission, we are committed to responding to the community’s health needs.
As a locally owned and operated nonprofit organization, Enloe Health exists to improve the lives of the members of our community.

2022 CHNA
Enloe Health’s Board of Trustees adopted the 2022 CHNA in June 2022.
The assessment’s goals were to:
- Evaluate the health problems Butte County residents face
- Invite feedback about priorities being addressed and the effectiveness of those efforts
- Assess other health needs not being addressed
- Create an action plan supporting community health
- Inspire increased collaboration among agencies
The 2022 CHNA report includes an overview of the data gathering process, key findings from focused discussion groups and an outline of the resulting action plan. The report also includes a summary of the 2019 CHNA action plan and response.

2023-2025 Implementation Strategy
To address the health needs identified on the 2022 CHNA, Enloe Health created an Implementation Strategy.
For each health need the organization plans to address, the Implementation Strategy describes the actions the health system intends to take, including programs and resources committed to address the selected needs, anticipated impacts of these actions, and planned collaboration between the health system and other organizations.
Enloe will build on previous efforts and existing initiatives, while considering new strategies to improve health.

Community Benefit Support
Enloe Health also supports other organizations that share our mission of improving the health of our communities.
We do this through both cash and in-kind contributions focused on community benefit activities that meet the key needs of our community. Based on our 2022 CHNA, our key focuses are:
- Access to care
- Chronic diseases
- Mental health and substance use
- Preventive care
If you believe your organization, activity or event supports our initiatives and you'd like to request our support, please apply. Applications are reviewed monthly. A confirmation email will be sent within five business days of the submitted application.
