Enloe Medical Center extends free valet parking to weekends

CHICO, Calif., Jan. 23, 2008 – Enloe Medical Center will expand its free valet parking service to include weekends beginning Saturday, Jan. 26. With the additional days, free valet parking at Enloe’s main campus will be available seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Weekends were added to assure adequate parking for patients and visitors.

Valet service at Enloe launched in January 2007 as construction work on Enloe’s expansion project began to limit parking spaces around the medical center. The expansion will include a new patient tower and a parking garage for employees and physicians. Some additional parking spaces for patients and visitors are also included as part of the expansion project.

Valet attendants can assist patients and visitors with wheelchairs, walkers and directions, and escort them into the main lobby. To use the valet service, motorists drive to Enloe’s main entrance on 5th and Magnolia, where a valet attendant greets them, gives them a ticket and parks the vehicle. After valet hours, Enloe’s Security officers escort guests to their vehicles.

Currently two parking lots near the medical center’s main entrance are dedicated for patients and visitors. Enloe employees use four off-site parking lots and ride a shuttle bus to the medical center on the Esplanade. To promote alternative commuting, Enloe offers employees free bus passes, preferred parking for car/vanpoolers, a free online ridesharing service and guaranteed emergency rides home for alternative commuters.
