Enloe Medical Center reaches additional tentative agreements with SEIU

WHAT:  In continuing negotiations, Enloe Medical Center and the Service Employees International Union – United Healthcare West (SEIU) have reached tentative agreement on 29 issues. The most recent tentative agreement was regarding Educational Assistance and Educational Leave, and the two parties are currently discussing benefits proposals. The tentative agreements will, for the most part, form the sections of the collective bargaining agreement between Enloe and SEIU that cover the terms and working conditions of the 600 Enloe employees represented by SEIU in the Service Unit.

WHEN: Bargaining has taken place about three to four times a month since it began in May 2007.                    

WHO: Enloe representatives are the Vice President of Human Resources, Enloe’s labor attorney and four Enloe directors.

NEXT
STEPS: It is typical for economic issues to be considered last in union negotiations. Since Enloe and SEIU have resolved most non-economic issues, they are now turning their attention to economic issues. Enloe Medical Center looks forward to receiving a wage proposal from SEIU. Bargaining dates have been set through March 2008.
