Enloe's Supportive and Palliative Care Service is a natural expression of the medical center's mission to improve the quality of your life through patient-centered care. It is available with a physician referral for inpatients at Enloe Medical Center.
Relief from symptoms at any age, any stage
Palliative Care is specialized medical care for people with serious illnesses. This type of care provides relief from the symptoms, pain and stress of serious illness, whatever the diagnosis. Palliative care is appropriate for any age and at any stage of serious illness, and can be provided together with curative treatment. Involving the Supportive and Palliative Care team does not mean you have to stop current treatment.
How We Can Help
We offer care tailored to meet your needs and the needs of your family as you face serious illness. We can:
- Manage symptoms caused by disease or treatment such as: Pain, nausea, loss of appetite, shortness of breath, constipation, emotional distress
- Provide resources for you and your family at times of illness, transition or loss
- Assist with advance care planning and decision-making for complex medical illness
- Help family members provide support to you and to each other

The Supportive and Palliative Care team works closely with your other doctors, providing an extra layer of support. The goal is to improve the quality of life for both you and your family. Led by a board-certified physician Medical Director, the Supportive and Palliative Care team is made up of medical professionals dedicated to the specific needs of patients with serious illness and complex symptoms.
