Getting ready for a new baby and parenting are exciting and important times. Enloe's Mother & Baby Education Center wants to help you and your family prepare. We offer a range of classes for before and after the baby is born. Our goal is to provide excellent services that promote healthy living for babies and families.

BEFORE BABY
Maternity Orientation
Join us for a virtual powerpoint guided orientation, informing you of what to expect before, during, and after your stay at Enloe's Mother & Baby Care Center! This is a great opportunity for you to get pre-admitted, discover our philosophy of care, and enjoy delicious refreshments in a comfortable relaxing environment. The purpose of not touring through the Mother & Baby Care Center department for prenatal orientation is to protect our inpatients confidentiality and privacy, as well as ensuring infant security.
Time: 6 p.m. to 7:15 p.m.

This childbirth preparation series of classes is designed to
help expectant mothers and their partners create a positive birth
experience and feel prepared for the care of their newborn and
breastfeeding. The course philosophy is based upon choices that meet individual and family needs including natural breathing and relaxation
techniques, as well as pain management options. All classes
are taught by our highly trained Registered Nurse Instructors. The Prepared Childbirth classes are held one evening per
week, on Tuesdays or Wednesdays,
for five consecutive weeks or over a weekend.
Prepared Childbirth Complete Package Cost: $125 per couple.

Bittie Baby & Me (0 to 3 months old)
Becoming a new parent can be an overwhelming experience, and we are here to help you make this transition much easier for you, your new bundle of joy and your family. Join us in this popular parenting the infant series. Gain knowledge on current research and recommendations which promote necessary infant health, wellness, and safety. Form lasting friendships in a supportive, safe, and nurturing environment.
Cost: Free if you delivered your baby at Enloe Medical Center (please bring your free class certificate to your first class), otherwise there is a $75 charge for the 6-class series (or $15/class).
Registration Info: Pre-registration is not required; just show up for valuable information.

Infant Massage/Bigger Baby & Me
Learn how to effectively communicate and cue into your baby's needs through
your loving and gentle touch. During the formative months, learn how to promote your infant's optimal growth and development. Participants will receive a bottle of infant massage oil, and a laminated sheet of massage strokes instruction. For babies, from newborn through
crawling. Additional Infant Massage classes are also offered as part of the Bittie Baby series of classes.

Breastfeeding Consultations
Personalized breastfeeding consults are available with our Lactation Consultant, who can answer questions and offer advice. Private consultations by appointment are available Monday through Friday in the afternoons. Please call our Lactation Consultant at 332-3972 for more information or to set up an appointment.
SAFETY CLASSES
Infant/Pediatric CPR
The No. 1 cause of death for children under the age of five is
preventable accidents. Learn how to make your child's environment
safe, how to prevent the most common childhood accidents, and
infant/child CPR techniques for newborns through age 8. Babies
and children should not attend this class, please.
Cost: $35/person

BABYSITTING 101
This class is for young adolescents (11 years and older) who want to learn
how to be a responsible babysitter and gain insight on infant
and pediatric CPR techniques. An infant/pediatric CPR participation card
is provided to all participants.
