Nutritional and Nurturing Aspects of Food
This is one of our patient-centered initiatives addressing the components of Planetree.
- In 2008, Enloe refreshed its menu, providing a larger variety of selections including more vegetarian options.
- Enloe introduced a new patient menu in 2009 in response to patient preference.
- In 2011, In response to the cultural needs of our patients, we began offering meals on patient menus specially created for Hmong patients. The new dishes are Laotian Beef and Herb Salad, Pork and Mustard Greens Soup, Stir Fried Chicken with Tomatoes, Garlicky Green Bean Stir Fry, Chicken Soup with Tofu, Everyday Rice, Plain Rice Porridge and Rice Porridge with Meat. These meals enhance patients’ nutritional status by providing healthy foods that patients are more likely to eat.
