Enloe Medical Center to open
small playground area Nov. 12

CHICO, Calif., Nov. 11, 2013 – Enloe Medical Center will open a small playground area across the street from the hospital on the Esplanade campus beginning Tuesday, Nov. 12. The playground equipment was generously donated by the Chico Rotary Club.

“We look forward to hearing the sounds of happy children as they play on the structure, whether they are visiting patients in the hospital or from the neighborhood,” said Jolene Francis, director of the Enloe Foundation. “Chico Rotary Club continues to make a significant difference in the lives of people in our community. This play structure is one more example of its continued outreach and dedication to ‘Service Above Self.’”

The playground area represents the first phase of the park construction, which itself is the final phase of the Enloe Century Project expansion. This expansion has included a parking structure, which opened in 2008; a new 191,000-square-foot patient tower, which opened in 2012; and an expanded emergency department, currently under construction. Park construction is expected to continue no sooner than 2016, after the new emergency department is complete, including interior renovations of the existing department.
