Community invited to celebrate Enloe’s Magnolia Patient Tower

CHICO, Calif., June 15, 2012 – Two free community events are scheduled next week at Enloe Medical Center to celebrate the new Magnolia Patient Tower. More than 200 employees and volunteers will host the events.  Enloe looks forward to celebrating with the communities we serve. A preview video can be found online at www.enloe.org/century.

The Magnolia Tower is a five-story patient tower that includes a Surgical Center, Mother & Baby Care Center, two intensive care units, a medical/neurological unit, definitive care unit and surgical care unit. It also has a new main entrance and admitting area, dedicated surgical entrance, a meditation room, garden café space, gift shop and a comfortable family lounge on each floor.

The 191,000-square-foot expansion doubles the size of the new patient tower and will add 144 new private patient rooms, bringing the total number of licensed inpatient beds to 343 at the Esplanade Campus. The total number of licensed inpatient beds at Enloe Medical Center, including the Rehabilitation Center and Behavioral Health, will increase to 433. The new tower is part of the Century Project expansion that includes a Parking Structure, which opened in 2008, as well as a future expanded Emergency Center and a park. June 21  Silent Candlelight Prayer Walk

In recognition of the new Magnolia Patient Tower, Enloe’s Planetree Spirituality Initiative Team invites the community to offer heartfelt wishes for the people who enter the new Magnolia Patient Tower and throughout Enloe Medical Center in the decades ahead. Participants will gather at the Magnolia Tower Main Entrance (5th and Magnolia Avenues) at 8:30 p.m. for a brief introduction, or drop by anytime between 8:30 p.m. and 9: 30 p.m. for a silent walk with a lit candle, offering good thoughts and blessings according to their own faith tradition, and leave in silence. June 23  Magnolia Patient Tower Celebration & Health Fair

The grand opening preview celebration will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Enloe’s Magnolia Patient Tower, 1531 Esplanade and 6th Avenue, Chico. Please join us in the celebration! The doors of our new Magnolia Patient Tower and Surgery Center will open for viewing. Enjoy guided tours, a health fair with more than 40 booths providing screenings, information, free tote bag and healthy giveaways, and an outdoor food court with local vendors. Enter a drawing for a Jake Early Magnolia Tower print. Free T-shirts will go to the first 200 guests. “Born at Enloe” photo boards will be available for photo opportunities.
