Dr. Baird returns to Enloe Medical Center to oversee Cancer Center

CHICO, Calif., March 7, 2011 -– Enloe Medical Center is pleased to welcome the return of Michael Baird, MD, as the Executive Director of the Enloe Regional Cancer Center. 

Dr. Baird’s work involves pursuing selected accreditations, increasing outreach, and creating well-integrated cancer services to further enhance patient care.

Dr. Baird practiced radiation oncology in Chico and at Enloe from 1980 until 2006. During that time, he helped establish Enloe as a premier cancer treatment center in the region. After a brief eight-month retirement, Dr. Baird went to work for the University of Mississippi for three years where provided clinical care and secured research grants as the clinical director for Radiation Oncology.

Clinical services at the Enloe Regional Cancer Center include medical oncology; radiation oncology; infusion therapy, at a clinic overlooking the beautiful Healing Garden; breast care; clinical trials; oncology tumor rounds; a cancer registry; a lymphedema program; and acupuncture. Patients and their families receive support and education through case management, a specialized library, and several support programs, including healing arts projects and programs.
