Enloe to celebrate Earth Day with second annual fair

CHICO, Calif., April 20, 2010 – Enloe Medical Center will host its second annual Earth Day Fair, noon to 6 p.m, Thursday, April 22, at the Enloe Conference Center, 1528 Esplanade. This event is free and open to everyone.

The community is invited to celebrate Earth Day at our informational fair, which will offer practical sustainability and recycling tips, educational displays, giveaways, snacks and short films. Vendors at the fair will be Butte Environmental Council, California Water Service Co., Cartridge World, cChaos Certified Farmers Markets, Chico Electric Auto Association, Chico Sustainability Task Force, Community Seeds Magazine, FAFCO, Inc. - Solar/Thermal Energy, Floral Native Nursery, Greenfeet, PG&E, Project S.A.V.E., Sacramento River Preservation Trust and Structural Integrated Panel Contractors.

More than 1,500 Enloe employees and community residents attended last year’s fair, which featured electric cars, green builders and native plant gardening.

The Enloe Earth Day Fair is an opportunity to educate Enloe employees and our community about sustainability. It is part of our commitment to the Health Communities component of the Planetree approach to health care. Enloe has created a committee that is working to expand the medical center’s recycling and ecological sustainability practices that are good for people and the environment.
