Enloe Community Health Fair to offer free assessments,screenings, healthy cooking demo on Feb. 27
CHICO, Calif., Feb. 24, 2010 – Enloe Medical Center will host a free community health fair on Saturday, Feb. 27, 2010 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Chico Mall, 1950 E. 20th St. The community is invited to this free event offering activities for all ages.
Enloe Medical Center will provide healthy recipes and cooking demonstrations as well as blood pressure screenings and stroke risk assessments. Participants will also have an opportunity to speak with surgical and technical staff as they explain cardiac procedures.
The Enloe Community health fair is just one of many community events that Enloe Medical Center hosts throughout the year and is the wrap-up event for Heart Month, celebrated in February. The other events were a public lecture on weight and smoking, a Women’s Heart Healthy Tea, and an Ask the Heart Team panel discussion. Enloe appreciates the assistance provided at the health fair by students and faculty in this event from the School of Nursing at CSU Chico and the Respiratory Therapy Program at Butte Community College.
